Tabasco 002

I glazed this with a mixture of Winsor & Newton Transparent Red Ochre and Winsor & Newton Transparent Maroon. The glaze almost looked like the sauce itself.

Still Life

I was getting a little bored having done environments for a very long time. So I wanted to do a still-life for a change but be thematically consistent. As my thoughts are always in the urban sprawl/poverty/mundane, I picked a can of Spam as my subject which is what I grew up eating almost everyday.

Theater 001

This is based on a local theater here in Bend, Oregon. I used several new pigments from Winsor & Newton for glazing this painting: combination of Transparent Brown Oxide and Transparent Gold Ochre, then when that dried, I finished it with an Indian Yellow glaze.

Tire Garage 003

The older I get, the more I come to realize that I would never paint as well as my heroes. But the cool thing about getting older is that I am more at peace of that realization. This latest painting is based on a Les Schwab Tire Center somewhere in Oregon, possibly Sandy. I forget. I take alot of pictures for references when we are on the road.

A Couple of Tiny Paintings

Sometimes, I'll repeat an image if I feel that I was not successful in my previous attempts. This garage scene is one of them.
