Laundromat 016
This painting's compostion was based on the Golden Section. As you can see, I didn't stay strictly to the golden rule's divisional lines.

I glazed this with a mixture of Winsor & Newton Transparent Red Ochre and Winsor & Newton Transparent Maroon. The glaze almost looked like the sauce itself.11" x 14 ' / oil on canvasboard / 2009

Still Life

I was getting a little bored having done environments for a very long time. So I wanted to do a still-life for a change but be thematically consistent. As my thoughts are always in the urban sprawl/poverty/mundane, I picked a can of Spam as my subject which is what I grew up eating almost everyday.

Theater 001

This is based on a local theater here in Bend, Oregon. I used several new pigments from Winsor & Newton for glazing this painting: combination of Transparent Brown Oxide and Transparent Gold Ochre, then when that dried, I finished it with an Indian Yellow glaze.
